2018 Dreaming

Inspiration
There’s something special about this time of the year, not only for the opportunity it gives us to slow down and enjoy time with loved ones, but also to take stock of the past year and consider what we’d like to do differently—or the same—when the calendar turns over on January 1st.

There’s something special about this time of the year, not only for the opportunity it gives us to slow down and enjoy time with friends and family, but also to take stock of the past year and consider what we’d like to do differently—or the same—when the calendar turns over on January 1st.

One practice that I like to set aside time for each December is what I refer to as the “brain dump.” Essentially it’s an opportunity to put pen to paper, devoid of expectation, to let yourself dream about what you’d like your next twelve months to look like. Is it finalizing the book proposal you’ve been sitting on for a few years? Or unplugging at 5pm each day to nurture a healthier work-life balance? Or paring down your services to focus solely on the projects that light you up? I encourage you to set aside some time this week to just dream and see what shows up once you start—you may surprise yourself with the outcome.

Personally, when I take stock of this past year, one thing comes to mind that I’d like to carry with me into 2018, and that is support. 2017 was the first year I relinquished complete control of my business and opened the door to the expertise of others (I know, it took a while). Needless to say, I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner, as it was the pivotal step I needed to take in order get clear and level-up in my business. Even if you prefer to work solo, the perspective of an outsider can be invaluable, especially one who understands your industry and can guide you down the path to achieving your goals.

So as you get to dreaming about what you’d like your 2018 to look like, we’re here to help! With your aspirations in mind, we’re extending our Afternoon Tea promotion through the end of the year. Through a candid dialogue and the guidance of a pre-call survey, we’ll work to identify a clear next-step plan so you can evolve your business to better align with your goals as a self-employed creative. After all, it’s about creating a work life that works for you.

We’re currently scheduling sessions for January, and will check in with you mid-December to see what’s brewing before our call. If you’re on the fence, we don’t anticipate having another promotion of this nature until late 2018, so be sure to take advantage. We look forward to engaging in many soul-enriching conversations with you in the New Year!
