Running a design studio that plays a large role in helping clients bring their businesses to life, we’ve found that success in this process starts at the beginning. Before any inspiration is gathered, and before any designs are sketched, it comes down to one simple question: why does your business exist? Well, maybe it’s not so simple, but it’s critical to telling your story and crafting a brand that is uniquely you. Which is precisely why I wanted to take you through this process with Marbury — to show you how focusing on the right details in the beginning will play a crucial role in setting you apart from your competitors and setting the stage for your business to thrive.
In short, Marbury is the result of a decade of fine-tuning. From Jessica Comingore Studio to The Elysian Edit, there’s always been a common thread of simplicity, intention, and valuing design that puts both of these qualities at the forefront. In this sense, Marbury will be no different, but rather a marriage of these two entities. While The Elysian Edit will no longer be its own lifeline, all of the inspiring content we created for it will still live on for you to return to. And if you enjoyed what was shared there and are longing for more, you can expect to see many of the same ideas and conversations shared here on the Marbury journal. From the tools that allow us to approach our work with ease and organization, to interviews with fellow creatives who embody thoughtfulness and authenticity in their work, our goal is to create a business that values quality over quantity in all facets of what we do and share.
While much will remain the same, one main change will be in Marbury’s offerings. With years of graphic design experience under our belt, we’ve identified that our strength lies in crafting brand identities, and believe that this is the first and most important step in building a successful brand. Working closely with our clients, we take them through a comprehensive branding process that lays the foundation for everything that will follow, whether it be a website, stationery system, or marketing collateral. By doing the most valuable work up front, we put all of the pieces in place to guarantee ease and cohesion later, which in an increasingly visual world, is now more important than ever.
